# General Settings

The General settings pane controls the overall look and behavior of Weavestream. Open it from Settings (Cmd+Comma) and select the General tab.

# Appearance

Choose how Weavestream looks:

System — Follows your Mac's appearance setting (Light or Dark mode)
Light — Always uses the light theme
Dark — Always uses the dark theme

Each option shows a thumbnail preview so you can see what it looks like before selecting it.

# Chat

These settings control the AI chat panel:

# Show AI Response Bubble

Toggle whether AI responses appear in a styled bubble or as plain text. This is a visual preference — the content is the same either way.

# Sample Values per Field

Controls how many example values the AI sees from each field during the smart routing step. Adjustable from 1 to 10, with a default of 3.

Lower values (1–2) — Faster routing, uses fewer tokens, but the AI has less context to determine relevance
Higher values (5–10) — More context for routing, which can improve accuracy, but uses more tokens

A value of 3 works well for most use cases.

# Text Size

Adjust the font size used throughout Weavestream's interface. Five preset sizes are available, from smaller to larger. This affects all text in the app, including the sidebar, item list, and detail view.

You can also adjust text size with keyboard shortcuts:

Cmd+Plus — Increase text size
Cmd+Minus — Decrease text size

# Startup

Toggle whether Weavestream starts automatically when you log into your Mac. When enabled, the app launches in the background so your data starts syncing right away.
