# Searching & Sorting Items

Weavestream gives you several ways to find and organize items in the item list. Whether you're looking for something specific or just want to see what's most recent, these tools help you stay on top of your data.

# Searching

The search bar at the top of the item list lets you find items quickly. Type a search term and Weavestream filters the list in real time.

Search looks across multiple parts of each item:

  • Title — The mapped title field
  • Summary — The mapped summary field
  • Raw JSON — The full API response data for each item

This means you can search for values that might not be visible in the title or summary. For example, if an item's raw data includes a field like assignee: "Jane", searching for "Jane" will find it even if that field isn't mapped to the title or summary.

Clear the search bar to show all items again.

# Sorting

Use the Sort menu in the toolbar above the item list to change the order:

Sort Option Description
Newest Most recent items first, based on the mapped date field
Oldest Oldest items first
Title Alphabetical order by title

The default sort is Newest, so you always see the latest data at the top.

Note: Sorting by date requires a Date field to be mapped in your endpoint configuration. If no date is mapped, items without dates will appear at the end.

# Filtering by Status

The Filter menu in the toolbar lets you narrow the item list by status:

  • Show All — Display items regardless of status
  • Critical — Only show items with a Critical status
  • Warning — Only show items with a Warning status
  • Info — Only show items with an Info status
  • OK — Only show items with an OK status

Status filtering is useful when you want to focus on the most important items — for example, viewing only Critical alerts.

# Hiding Archived Items

The Filter menu also includes a toggle to hide archived items. When enabled (the default), archived items are hidden from the list to keep your view clean. Turn it off to see everything, including items you've previously archived.

# Combining Search, Sort, and Filters

All of these tools work together. You can:

  1. Select an endpoint or Smart Filter in the sidebar
  2. Filter to show only Critical items
  3. Sort by Newest
  4. Search for a specific term

The item list updates to show only items that match all your criteria.
